Mount Nyamuragira

Mount Nyamuragira is Africa's most active volcano, erupting more than 40 times since 1885. Located in Virunga National Park, this shield volcano at 3,058 meters creates spectacular lava flows and fountains during eruptions. While not offering the permanent lava lake of neighboring Nyiragongo, Nyamuragira provides dramatic volcanic landscapes, including vast lava fields from recent eruptions.
