DRC Tourist Visa
The DRC tourist visa covers leisure travel — city stays, Congo River journeys, national parks and cultural trips. You apply before departure with a passport valid six months, your itinerary and confirmed accommodation, a yellow fever certificate, a return ticket and proof of funds. Validity and processing time are set by the mission handling your application.
A tourist visa is the right category if you are travelling for leisure: Kinshasa and its music scene, the Congo River, Kongo Central, the eastern parks or a combination of these.
It does not cover paid work, journalism, research or filming, all of which need separate authorisation. Applying under the wrong category is a common cause of refusal.
