Azande Hunting Domain

The Azande Hunting Domain is a vast protected conservation landscape in northeastern DRC, spanning parts of Haut-Uélé and Bas-Uélé. Named after the Azande cultural region, this domain lies within a dynamic savanna–forest transition zone where open woodlands, rivers, and forest corridors create diverse habitats and strong ecological connectivity. Azande plays a key role in northeastern Congo's conservation network, supporting wildlife movement across large landscapes and protecting watersheds feeding the Uélé River system. The domain is also closely linked to local communities and traditional land stewardship, making it an important setting for community-aligned conservation and responsible travel.
