Bushimaie Hunting Domain

The Bushimaie Hunting Domain is one of the most important protected landscapes in the Greater Kasai region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Characterized by a vast savanna–forest transition ecosystem, Bushimaie plays a key role in preserving wildlife habitats while supporting regulated conservation management across central DRC. The area is also associated with several Bushimaie Game Reserve blocks, reflecting its long-standing role in structured wildlife protection. Bushimaie is a strategic biodiversity zone linking forest and savanna ecosystems in south-central Congo. Its ecological diversity supports species adapted to mixed habitats and contributes to climate resilience and watershed protection in the Kasai basin.
