The two-day guided ascent moves from montane rainforest through bamboo belts into Afro-alpine grasslands, tracked by ICCN rangers and a certified mountain guide. Combine the trek with eastern lowland (Grauer's) gorilla trekking in the same park, Lwiro Primate Sanctuary and a Lake Kivu island night at Tchegera or Idjwi for the definitive South Kivu conservation circuit.
