The Mufufya Integral Game Reserve is a strictly protected conservation area in Haut-Katanga Province, southeastern DRC. As an integral game reserve, its primary purpose is the long-term preservation of ecosystems and wildlife, with access limited almost exclusively to scientific, conservation, and institutional activities. Mufufya safeguards representative Katanga miombo ecosystems, which are essential for biodiversity, climate resilience, and regional watershed stability. The reserve is critical for baseline biodiversity preservation in southern DRC, long-term ecological and climate research, carbon storage through intact miombo woodlands, and landscape resilience in Katanga's savanna systems.
