Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival in Goma
Arrive at Goma International Airport and transfer to your lodge. Afternoon briefing on gorilla trekking protocols, conservation history, and what to expect. Evening at leisure with views of Lake Kivu.
Gorilla Trekking Experience
Early breakfast and transfer to Virunga National Park headquarters (Rumangabo). Ranger briefing and assignment to a gorilla family. Trek through volcanic forest (1-8 hours) until you find the gorillas. Spend one hour with the family before returning. Celebrate with certificate presentation.
Conservation & Community Visit
Visit a community project supported by gorilla tourism revenue. Learn about the Virunga Foundation's work in education, health, and sustainable energy. Optional second gorilla trek or nature walk. Evening farewell dinner.
Departure or Extension
Morning at leisure. Transfer to Goma airport or continue to Nyiragongo volcano trek, Mikeno Lodge, or Lake Kivu exploration.
